Intuition? Gut feeling? No clue?

Seems like everyone we talk to has a strong opinion on whether BabyP will be a BOY or a GIRL. Chris and I go back and forth on what we think "it" is.....but there are no certain feelings either way.

So, here's your chance to let us know what YOU think. =)

The Cosmic Battle of the
Comedic Husband vs. the Hormonal Wife

It was a hot Sunday as we prepared for a family outing. I'm trying on a million one or two outfits and continuing my regular struggle of "pregnant or beer gut?"

I turn my back to my dear, sweet husband and ask him a question I ask all too often...

me: Honey, does this shirt make me look wide??

Chris doesn't miss a beat, and replies with a big smile on his face...

him: No, your belly does.

I spun around, slightly shocked that he would go there, but I'm overcome with laughter.

He's lucky I love him so much.
He's lucky I think he's one of the funniest people I know.
He's lucky that he defeated my potentially dangerous hormones.

If only he could be so lucky next time....

Sex, Bumps, and Tomatoes

Sex.
That's right...one week and one day until the "big ultrasound" where we take a closer look at all of the important organs and ligaments BabyP has been busy growing. And, while definitely not the most important goal of the day........we will [hopefully] be finding out the SEX of our lil bean!! Eager to be prepared, we've been discussing names and with luck we will share the name and gender of BabyP next week. (We aren't sharing names quite yet, but will once it's decided. The gender will be revealed asap!)

Yesterday marked our 19th week of pregnancy. (Almost half-way through already!) BabyP has been making him/herself known with sporadic movements....and Daddy-to-be got to feel for the first time this Sunday. It was a moment we'll never forget.

Just in case you were wondering....what food would BabyP be equivalent to...here's your answer: from head to bottom, our baby is about the size of a large heirloom tomato. (See pic below if you are confused between heirlooms and romas). It's (I hate using "it") now weighs about 8.5 ounces.

This week, our Sweet BabyP's brain is developing areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. And may be able to hear us now! So, look out for less bad words and more singing from Mommy-to-be. :)

Hair is starting to form and BabyP's arms and legs should now be the correct proportion.

Baby's First Kick!

Yesterday was an amazing day...it was a lazy Sunday, beautiful weather, and oh yeah- I FELT THE BABY MOVE! :) Okay, so it wasn't so much a kick as a "tap, tap" but i felt it several times in the afternoon, and after dinner too. Definitely not as strange as I thought it'd feel (kind of cool actually) and so reassuring.

I've been a bad blogger...but we are 18 weeks along today and here are the pics I'm behind on.

16 Weeks and Still growing

Hello, hello! Not too much new on the baby front...just gettin' ready to get ready. (Meaning I'm making lists of all of the organizing & nesting we have coming up in the next few months). But BabyP is still growing and is apparently the size of an avocado this week....about 4.5 inches from head to butt and weighs around 3.5 ounces. All of his/her body parts are growing and moving around (eyes more centered, ears where they should be, etc). And I guess our little bean will hit a growth spurt...double his/her weight and adding inches! I have a feeling Mommy will be purchasing some maternity jeans very soon. :)

We have a check up this week, and the "BIG" ultrasound in May is quickly approaching. Are we going to find out the sex??? YES we are absolutely going to find out ...and NO we will not be keeping it a secret. I promise to post it here as soon as possible. (And let's hope BabyP cooperates!) lol. To be quiet honest...we don't have a preference whether BabyP is a boy or girl. There are such benefits and wonderful things to look forward to if we are blessed with a son or a daughter.....we just pray that everything looks healthy in the next ultrasound. (Cliche? Sure, but so very true.)
